What people ask
Yes. The hosted facilitator at agents.parallel.best is free to use. We don't take a cut of your revenue. You pay only your own gas costs, and we sponsor those on Base, HyperEVM and Avalanche (1,000 transactions per agent per month).
No. There's no signup, no KYB, no Cooper Labs onboarding. Funds settle directly to the wallet address you control. You can start accepting payments in 5 minutes.
An agent pays in USDp, USDC or sUSDp. A merchant can accept those, plus other major stables on chains where the Parallelizer is deployed (Base, Ethereum, HyperEVM, Avalanche), and picks which tokens to accept. The agent chooses which of its three tokens to pay with, or lets the Parallel SDK select the best route automatically.
Stripe charges 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction and only accepts credit cards. AI agents don't have credit cards. The Parallel x402 facilitator is free, accepts stablecoins, and is built for the agent economy.
The smart contracts that settle every payment are audited by Bailsec, Cyfrin and Certora. The reports and bug bounty scope are published on the security page.
About 3.5 seconds on Base, in Parallel's own test with real payments (October 2026), down from 9.4 seconds. The agent signs the first payment of a process in about half a second; the rest is the facilitator's verification, your handler and the on-chain settlement.
@parallel-protocol/x402 0.8.2 or later. The facilitator only settles a payment that presents the settle token it issued at verification, which versions before 0.8.0 do not carry, and 0.8.2 extends to more failure reasons the 402 that tells the agent to check with you before it pays again. Agents use @parallel-protocol/x402-fetch 0.4.0, which a fresh install gets with the Parallel CLI 0.5.0: one signing engine per wallet, kept between payments, signs simultaneous payments concurrently. Since 0.3.0, a paid request the merchant answers with a 402 fails with an X402FetchError that carries the merchant's reason, instead of returning the response. Since 0.3.1, that error tells the agent to check with the merchant before paying again whenever the payment may have gone through.
That the payment pays your payTo address, in the asset and on the network your route asks for, and covers your price. Each payment settles once: a repeated settlement returns the recorded result, never a second transfer. If a settlement fails, the SDK answers the agent with a 402 that says PAYMENT_SETTLEMENT_FAILED and gives the reason.
